Pulled over...
« on: March 08, 2010, 10:06:13 PM »
This month sucks, I've been pulled over 3 times already...FFS Cops leave me alone!!!!

1) for exhaust

2) Got out of it, for same thing

3) speeding 65 in 45....Got a tint ticket.

I mean really? Can't you guys go catch criminals :(

A friend of mine tried that line.

"Yup and when I'm not catching criminals, I have time to pull over speeders too." :(

Sorry to hear about the tix.  Maybe it's time to quiet down the pipe a bit and invest in a good detector?  NYS is broke.  They won't be getting any more lenient on equipment violations.

Ya, 20 over isn't terrible considering its a 55 to 45, so its essientially a speed trap. I honestly don't even know where it drops to 45.

But w/e...thankfully my million badges got that one dropped for me.

The police have been pulling people over left and right out here. Its almost like they are getting commission from it now.  And its not just the locals either, the staties have been pulling people over around the towns too.

Very true, last night these two townies that got me, when we went back out had like 3 people pulled over, it was freaking crazy. Yeah man, they're like ALL OVER the place....

I wonder if they do get commission now, its unbelieveable. I carry around the ticket I just got for the exhaust so if they pull me over for that they let me go cause I say I have the silencer on order. Really, I'm just waiting for the weekend to put it on with the putty so it doesn't rattle.

Honestly, it seems like it'd be financially beneficial to build a 'copy' of the subaru/DARE STI.  Without lights and stuff, of course.

It's starting to warm up a bit guys. The cops always come back out in full force as soon as the sun shows itself for the first time from behind the winter clouds. I agree with Rich...gotta watch that speed, but I understand about those damn speed traps...they get ya. Haha.

I got hit for 3 Loud exhaust tickets in less than 40 days a couple years ago. I took that exhaust off so quick...and it just sits in my garage. :(

I'm gonna put my silencer on this weekend, so if they say anything I'm gonna keep a copy of the ticket that a cop is gonna sign off from

A. it may seem like there dropping the hammer but there prolly just running step. The state issues them a grant they have to write an ass ton of tickets within a very short amount of time to keep said grant.
B. speeding is speeding
C. even with a scilencer on your exhaust is still a "modified exhaust" and you can still get a ticket for it. Unless its an SPT exhaust in that case you would have a paper proving its a "factory installed option".
D there job is to write tickets just as yours is to sell cars. If you had to do there job for a week you would have a different tune. Dealing with assholes who think they know more then you and try to tell you how its going to be all day kinda puts a damper on your mood and you tend to miss the one nice guy with a sweet car.

I've got family that have spoken about this point.  It's sad but true.

'Course the Waffleford PD car I saw take a left on red (2-way street to 2-way street)with no turn signal while the driver was on the cell last night was probably having a bad night.  He didn't even have the decency to abuse his lights/siren!  I'm convinced these guys are trying to give all cops a bad name.

Whats wrong with this?

Tint and no front plate tickets are BS really, because you can get away with that in other, less taxed states.  20 over is def ticket material, cant really complain about that.  If your exhaust is just a bit louder Id say, no probs, but if you are catless and getting on it, well ya had it coming :police: :-D

I knew they where out there in force for a reason!!!

I'm getting my silencer put on this weekend, need to get some exhaust sealant and put it around it so it doesn't rattle like crazy when I come off throttle

havent had any problems lately (knock on wood), got an exhaust ticket a few months ago but i laugh at those...can get them written off the next day.

my problems are going to change soon though, im getting the car tinted here soon and then im just fucked so im all prepared for it.

and like mark said they are just doing their job and to put yourself in their shoes would be an understatement...god knows how many fucking idiots they have to deal with each day.

i will say this though the albany county sheriff's department needs something better to do. they do nothing but traffic control, im scared to think what would happen if they actually had to deal with crime.
