those Enkeis are ugly  :crazy2:
and gonna run like $3-400 more for the set, aren't they?

what do the grids weigh, about 2.5-3lbs more then the Emkeis?  How do they compare to stock?  Don't have to beat the lightest aftermarket wheel to still be an upgrade

Rotas are an inexpensive nice-looking wheel. They're heavier than the ones they're a knockoff of because they use cheaper materials (in order to keep the price down).

While it's nice to be able to have form and function with any part you purchase, sometimes you have to settle for just form (not everyone has or wants to spend $1200+ for nice lightweight wheels); there's nothing wrong with that.

In my opinion, it's better to buy knockoff wheels than to buy a POS turbo inlet that collapses, eBay uppipes where the flex section breaks apart, knockoff headers that are even more prone to cracking than quality aftermarket ones, etc.

Hmmm kinda sounds like some people aren't into the Rota's. I like them but I can understand the weight issue. Just not enough to sway my decision. The input is really good. Some factors I hadn't looked into. Unless I decide to get 18 inch wheels, I'll prob. just get the 17x7.5's. Keep the suggestions coming. Thanks-Corey

People slam Rota's a lot, but mine have been on 3 different cars now. They've been forced into a curb by a dump truck, bounced down some nasty paved roads (Troy), bounced down some nasty unpaved roads, run through RallyX, and generally abused. They're ugly now, but still as true as the day I got them.

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.

If you plan on autocrossing with the SCCA keep in mind that an 8" wide wheel may bump you up a class depending on  your other mods.

I love Rota, as a company.  I love most of their wheels.  The problem is with any wheel mfg co, not all their products look 'right' on a car.  Also, cast wheels are heavy, with the lighter ones being more prone to failure.  I, for one, am ordering Rotas :-).  One of their lighter wheels is the Slipstreams, but not sure if they'd clear the 4-pots.  People bag on Rota for being derivative but jesus there's only so many ways to make a wheel look different.  I will be painting my brand new ones, 16x8's $125 per wheel, because they were only availible in the damned gunmetal/polished lip.

It's always worth keeping an eye on the FS threads of other subaru forums as well.  A used wheel/tire set is typically less than a grand.  New, most 17's will push 1k without rubber.

I love the RPF1's but the problem is everyone and their mom runs em, at least in silver.

THIS. I just picked up a set of SSR Type C's off of Craiglist for $450. These wheels were ~$500 a piece new. You can and will find a deal on legit wheels if you are patient.

Those wheels belong on a slightly rusty white panel van.   :2funny:

Still waiting to hear back from St4tus. He said he could beat prices on Rotas. If I don't hear from him, does anyone know where I should buy my wheels from? Thanks

www.machiii.net   usually cheaper than wheeldude.  However, you definitely need to call and check inventory with them first.  their online inventory sheet is way off.
