Topic: brake light turning on during driving (Read 1712 times)

This just started happening and its got me confused. About a week ago, I was accelarating fast in 1st shifted to 2nd and my brake light goes on (the handbrake light in the dash). Im like wtf and pull over; as soon as I stop it goes off. Drove around for a day w/o any problems, then it happens again, accelarating hard onto a highway so I cant pull over. The light goes away after about 45 seconds to a min. This morning it happened twice in a row, but this time acclerating slowly. Anyone know whats goin on?

I had the same thing hapen to me this winter brought it to subaru and they told me my breakpads were shot. when we pulled the pads they were almost at the metal byron said he was saprized the squeeling thing wasn't going off. just my 2 cents but thats were i would start

Check your break fluid. Same exact thing happend to me, I was VERY low on break fluid.

i had the same thing with low fluid also.

checked the brake fluid, its above low but not by much. Ill add soem asap
