I sold the stock radio out of my car on ebay and the guy who bought it emailed me today saying it won't power up.  He has an sti, is there anything special I should tell him to look at?  This really sucks, I took that radio out of my car after a week of owning the car and it sat in my room until I sold it, there's no reason why it shouldn't work.. :(

try calling a stereo place, and ask them if they can cross reference the part numbers for the wire harneses of your car, and that guys sti....   if they are not the same, then thats the prob, the wires might not be in the same location in the harness.

I installed an '03 CD changer in my STi without a problem... but we already discussed this in a PM.
Eric

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.

Tell him to figure it out himself, I highly doubt it's your radio that is bad.

I talked to skyphix some more when I picked up my side skirts tonight  and he mentioned the grounding clip that goes on the mounting brackets.  I thought about it, but didnt think much of it.  I've already sent the guy 23095824985 emails and I'll wait for him to reply before I mention the grounding clip thing.

Thanks

I helped skyphix put in his Radio, i can't remeber doing anything special to it. but if the guy thinks it's a ground problem then have him put a crimp end on the factory ground wire, i believe you can find the wire diagram on Ravensblade. and have him ground it to the frame under the dash. it should work find. also check the FUSE. he might of hooked up something wrong and blown the fuse. Gotta check the basics.

the guy wrote me an email today

"I plugged in the wire harness for the radio and you can hear the CD changer go through it's cycle then I turn on ignition and press power i get nothing, dead. I also checked the fuse and it was good. No worries I'll work on it more later, maybe I'll call Subaru see if they can help. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks!"

:-\ I don't know what to tell this guy.  Bargh.
