That was quick.

And I like the fact you aren't disclosing any of the issues you just had with the car.  Or the fact that the tune isn't safe for daily driving.

Tread carefully.

I just didnt feel like typeing all the same stuff i put on c list. And the only problem i had was my stock oil line broke and i had to get a braided line put on. The car could use some better injectors but thats about it and it made that power on 22 psi i have the boost set at 16 right now if people are to scared that its unsafe lol.

I don't normally venture into car FS threads, but mods make a car worth less to the average buyer.

Sadly I need to part with my '08 STi.
It currently has less than 3500 miles on her, WRB, Gold BBS, Nav, Homelink dimming mirror, arm rest ext.

The only modifications are:
       painted tails (see pic)
Tinted windows, 15% rear, 30% front
       Debadged
       K&N filter

This car has never been driven in anything other sunshine, stored all winter, never seen rain, never been driven hard, adult owned.
I am asking $27,250.00  or Best Offer...
email me for more info:   mcevok@verizon.net
I will add more photos later...

:2funny:  sorry man, but I had to laugh at that being in a sale ad....not the most customer friendly approach...................especially from someone looking to sell a car for ~$5k over book
Like Dave hinted at, you just don't get money back on mods  :|

How are you selling the car for what it's worth if your modified vehicle isn't even worth book value but you're charging more than that?

Daryl (and others) gave you sound advice to help you sell your car, and you completely dismissed him. Go back under the bridge you came from. We don't like trolls here...

Boy, I hope you never have to support yourself on commision or gratuity with that kind of attitude

you just agreed that "mods don't", but you still think your price is right?  You found the one and only magical combination that make a car appreciate in value?  sweet, I'll have to look into that!

I'll skip trying to give advice next time around.  Good luck.  When you find a craigslist sucker to pay 130% of book, try not to scare him off with your sales pitch.

Have a nice day.  :-)

Ill contribute...good luck with the sale.

Don't come on here getting attitude n thinking we are a bunch of retards. Could care less what mods u have, people don't want to buy modded vehicles (therefore decreasing the value of the car, whether u like it or not).

Way to ruin his thread guys.  If he has it on Craigslist, he's obviously showing it to a wider range of viewers than just us.  His price may be a little high but that's no reason to rag on him and blow his thread up.  It will sell for what it sells for.  If he can get 20k+, more power to him.
Bump for Dom, this thing runs awesome and is a blast to drive.  I'm glad the problems you were having were solved by a very simple fix.  Haters gonna hate, jealousy is a bitch.

regardless of problems or no problems, currently or in the past, an 05 sti with 55k miles stock or modded isnt worth $23K. being heavily modded makes its retail value even less.

i dont think anyone is hating or jealous, just pointing out facts of the used car world. if he gets that price for his car, with the original add posted, then the buyer is either really rich, really stupid or both. or the OP is really lucky.

GLWS either way! i hate to see her go but i hope to see her go to a good home

Bull, I'm not a 'hater' nor am I jealous.  I laughed at one less than customer friendly remark he put in his ad, then implied he was asking too much....at that point it was all in good fun and constructive criticism.  Sorry, but I think he ruined his own thread with the way he chose to respond to the comments that were made.

I dissagree with you on this one Caz, if it sells at that price, it's not 'more power to him', it's taking advantage of a buyer. This isn't a small mark up we're talking about here, it's enough to buy a good beater to drive during the week while saving this one for weekends.

I'm not saying I hope his car doesn't sell (that woud be hatin'), not at all!  What I'm saying is he needs to be a LOT more realistic.  If he's so concerned with the price of the mods, then return it to stock and sell off the parts, otherwise....you eat the cost, that's how it works *shrugs*

I'm not saying it will be sold for 23k and Dom knows it wont.  That is a good starting point for negotiations.  It's a two owner car that was meticulously maintained and the car shows it.  The recent mechanical mishaps were so simple to fix, it was almost stupid.

Just for reference, I sold my 02 wrx for 1200 over blue book and then bought a car for 7k over blue book.:2funny:  I'm sure when you go to sell your car, you'll change your mind about mods not being worth anything.  Or if you do decide to sell it for the book value of 10k,or even less in the future, give me a ring.

Of course it wont sell for 23k but still, that isn't taking advantage of a buyer.  It's hard to find a such a clean, semi low mile 05 STi with such tasteful and unique mods.  Everything is from a reputable name brand.  I'm predicting the car will sell for somewhere around 20k.  The same reason someone will buy this car for 20k is the same reason people buy 1986 Toyota Corollas for 7k.  The car will be sold for what someone else values it at.

you cant compare your car or my car to this car that's for sale. your car, besides the shell itself, is a stock 2004 sti, not remotely a 1998 2.5RS. your complete drive-line from motor/trans down to brakes and everything in between is from a sti. if you take the average of the value of a 98 RS and an 04 sti, i bet its pretty damn close to what you paid for the car.

my car is similar...i have everything besides the motor from an sti (which will change soon) plus many aftermarket parts. i would never sell my car for $10k or less, which is the value of a 2004 wrx, in its current state but wouldn't try to sell it for $20-$25k, which is what is invested in the car.

I'm also not saying that mods aren't worth anything BUT you cant expect to get excellent retail value plus full retail value of all aftermarket parts when both the car and the parts are used and when combined, depreciate even quicker than normally.

to genuinely give the OP advice, if you really want to get as much money that you can out of the car, bring it back to stock and then sell it and the aftermarket parts separately. you will probably get more money anyways and there is definitely a market for a CGM 05 stock sti and always a market for used aftermarket parts. also, re-word your FS thread...even if you had this at a price that is considered a steal, i wouldn't even consider it because you come off as a dick.
