I would love to do something like that, it looks like a blast!  But I don't like the suede.  it would drive me nuts when it's 'rubbed the wrong way'

I like the idea lots.  I have tons of alcantara in my interior and love it.

I am not going to try and pull it off all in one shot, but im going to start at the top and work my way down over a few weekends...for under a hundred in parts and some time and patience it looks like it can come out nice. I just question durability...paint flaking/scapes and or fading of the material.

I noticed when I color matched the roof of my SRT black (if that's the color you were going for) it made the roof seem very low for some reason. Don't know if anyone else has noticed this and I'm def not trying to discourage you, just some food for thought. 3M super series spray adhesive worked amazing for me. It grabs really well, sets up quickly, and doesn't really bleed through unless you go crazy with it.

Also the visors are a super pain in the ass. Everything came out looking really nice when I did mine, but I slaughtered the visors. I tried wrapping them, that was a mistake. So I bought a replacement set, sprayed them with fabric paint and it didn't quite look right. They also felt really rough to the touch and it would come off on your fingers a little bit sometimes. May not hurt to get an extra set of visors if someone had them for cheap. If there is anything I can do to help feel free to shoot me a pm.

Think of all the wonderful things you could write and draw in a suede headliner.  :-D

So I did my A pillars and they look awesome, but I pretty much want nothing to do with this anymore haha.... :tickedoff: Maybe I'll just redo the headliner in a factory suede color and call it a day. I got this random material off ebay though and it came from Israel and its ultra soft.

:-D  you can't do the A pillars and not touch the B or C pillars!  have some patience, take a break from it, then go back...get it all done up nice

Oh man, on something with plastic pillars I would've just used light succesive coats of plasti-dip.  Forgot the subies had them.

The is300 has fuzzy pillars, so the only choice is wrap, dye won't work.

I'm still considering trying a matte black vinyl wrap.....when I get around to doing the outside, do the inside in that to match (depending on how it looks when I hold a piece up to it).  I don't really want fuzzy suede pillars myself, definately don't want finger drawings on my roof, but plasti-dip attracts way too much dust on my dash pieces

I had found a place that had the vinyl in huge rolls...something crazy, like enough to do my roof, side skirts, part of my front bumper and lip and still have tons left over....was gonna cost around $150-ish.....i just keep finding other more useful things to spend that money on  :| :tickedoff:

oh, and as for the carbon fiber: if you want the real stuff it will cost you a fortune, and be a LOT more involved then just gluing on a sheet.  Or if you just want a carbon like look, 3M has a textured vinyl for that, but I'm not a big fan of how that one looks
