i needa slave....
« on: August 01, 2004, 01:42:59 AM »
so...

my clutch has been doing its stupid staying on the floor thing for a good long time, im used to it.   but i decided it was time to put the one from my old rs in it, i did that today,  bled it out, and introduced new fliud to the system.  still does it, even worse now!!   the odd thing is that the clutch in my old rs never did that, not once. but i figured this would have been an easy fix, nope. :x

tomorrow im goin to swap clutch master cylinders, and rebleed.   if its still all shitty, my only option left is to put  a new slave/master in.

does anyone have any leads on an aftermarket slave cylinder?  or is dealer the only way to go?  ooh, and does anyone have any rough idea what $ they go for?

thanks!

i havent touched the flywheel or clutch itself.
could it be the clutch springs, or maybe the throwout bearing??

Just fixed the problem in a RS and the turbo legacy. Change the master and the slave with new parts. Fill and bleed the system and it should go away. The master's linkage may need adjustment if that does't fix it.

I did a whole trackday with the legover doing it. Like I didn't have enough things to think about at 100 MPH around the bowl at pocono. ;)

Hey man, where you at?
You probably need to back off the clutch pedal linkage all the way. You're not getting new fluid in the cylinders.

This happened to me too. It was a stupid and easy fix. It's also why they keep going out.

call me if you have questions.
