quick question...I have my state interview fri.  Im gonna bring my resume and ref, but at this point, would you bring a coverletter.  I always think of those as a way of them getting to know you before setting up and interview.. so not needed at the actual interview..  sorry if Ive been hijacking thread.  kinda made it the, "Im getting a job" thread

since Marty doesn't seem to mind the off topic-ness  :crazy2:

if this is the first time they'll be seeing the resume, I say do the cover letter.  Which is easier?  Writting something out ahead of time to be sure you include everything?  Or telling them everything and hoping you don't leave stuff out?

Either way, worse they're going to do is set it down and talk to you instead, best it will do is help them remember who you were when they're reviewing stacks of resumes after the interviews are over (assuming you're up against other applicants, of course)

congrats on the new job. I have been thinking of throwing out the resume just to see if I can get more money. I am real confy in my job though and I don't do much on a regular basis. Tis good to be the Foreman with 11 guys under me. I just still think I can make more elsewhere.

Babies still young yet.

Where is said beer being thrown back tonight?

Update... Second interview was Thurs last week... I was called back by 3pm Thurs and was asked to come in for  a Third interview on Tues morning with the Operations Manager and the Lead technician..

From the second interview  seems the Owner really liked me but couldn't pay me what I was asking for .. He stated he could get me close to my asking rate... So I guess what 18 a hour. Hopefully not 17..  Family health insurance is like 400 a month last I knew I have no idea what it costs at this place.. but it's really looking promising...  Only Issue is I will most likely have to find a Part time job.. and for some reason I have a feeling finding one will me almost impossible.. So I kinda don't know what to do at this point...

Tommorro A.M. I might be offered a new JOBBY JOB!!! I am so excited...

Think I am just gonna work till the end of the week and be like .. Hey your call is done.. oh and I am too ..

COME TO ALBANY AND PICK UP YOUR TRUCK!

who knows, maybe what they can't make up for in hourly pay they'll make up for in more steady hours once they see that you do better work then the other guys they've got  :coolsmiley:

I didn't even think about having to pay for insurance out of pocket when we were talking about this before (though, I guess I should've considering where I work  :uglystupid2:)  That's just an extra little kick of shittiness, insurance costs are too high  :x

anyway, best of luck in your third interview!  glad to see there's progress being made

This sounds very very promising!!!  They really liked me, The lead technician was amazed when i said Hydraulics is really easy, then i described why i thought so  .. lol it was funny.

Insurance is expensive  150.00  week, but it's 50 hrs a week!   So OT would pay for insurance.

The only time in eight years  Joe saw 40 hrs he was on vaca.

By the end of the interview, They both were sitting on the edge of their chairs  and asking me how much I "Needed" to start..

I will know later today if i got the jobby job.

I told them i could start Monday..

YEP.. LOL I was like oh oh .. a Sweet bugeye.. oh wait that's PHONG>... SHOCKER>> Yep it was ... later dude..

Worked out perfectly.. I thought i was gonna have to come up with an excuse for themorning off. .but seeing as I didn't have any work.. I am just sitting at home right now..

I am actually really excited.. a guaranteed 50 hours a week.. I can do that EASY.. .7am to 5pm and home for DINNER.. and put the kiddies to bed.. weekends off.. No BS... and have a sweet ass Sprinter work truck!!  and it's black.. it will look so good when I am done detailing it..LOL

If I didn't have that last minute install last week at Fresh market on route 9 in latham and a meeting in Sryacuse , I would of had 22 hours for the week.. :buck2:
