Removing front O2 sensor cover flap ?
« on: June 26, 2010, 02:43:54 PM »
Read the writeup at http://www.wrxinfo.com/how_tos/exhaust/o2sensor.htm and would appreciate tips on removing the plastic fastener tabs holding the plastic cover:

You are going to want to remove these using flat head and phillips head screw drivers. Take care in making sure you do your best to not strip them out. If you do, you will end up having to either pry them out or pull them out with a set of pliers.

These actually screw out (huh)?  I tried prying and they don't come out easily and afraid of cracking the plastic.  Any advice on removing the tabs?

TIA

Pop the tabs out, then carefully with needlenose pliers grab the tab and pull while twisting. They're cheap enough to replace if you need to.
