2002 Lexus IS300... Same Car, New Owner
« on: July 21, 2010, 03:21:46 PM »
I thought I'd throw up a thread on my new daily driver. You all know the car, I bought it from DeadlyDave, but I thought I'd start a thread to document my experience with this fine automobile .

Here are the first pics in my drive way with the subie.

I'm lovin' it... Such a smooth ride and great in traffic. Fun fact: this car was orginally sold at a local dealership... So it has come full circle back to its orginal stomping grounds.

I've got some changes in store though...

First mods to come:
LSD... it will finally be put on this car... come hell or high water
Stock Exhaust - The megan sounds great but its not commuter car material (maybe an Apexi WS2 in the future)
Hotchkis Springs - the car is going back to l-o-w status
17" wheels - I'm going to try out the works from the RX-7 on it.
Stereo - I've got to sort out the sound system, even if it means returning to stock.
-2011 Lightning Red WRX Hatch - Fast and the Furious Reject

-1987 Mazda Rx-7 - N/A.

-1989 Mazda Rx-7 - Supercharged.

IIRC the stock components are all operational, however all the WIRING between the HU, Amp, and speakers, was FUBAR.

Good luck with everything.  I drove that car with a middle ear infection and I was fine, dunno what you're griping about with loudness .

:2funny: called out already. I have to get the RX-7 out of the garage before I can even think about swaping exhausts... it may not even happen.

Was this a 3 team deal, like the NFL or something? I give you this guy, you give me, these 2 guys and we will throw in a Toyota as compensation.

Toyotas are never given as compensation.  Only as a trophy or a penalty.  Kind of like a supermodel girlfriend or some emo girl with a lot of baggage.  There is no middle ground.

For the money, you can buy faster cars, but definitely not nicer ones.  I hope my baby's having fun in Jersey.

I just did an oil change.  I've been driving it everyday so I haven't had any down time to do any mods yet. Plus my WRX is being a PITA POS so all my time has gone into trying to fix that lately.

Yes! I'm just a set of coilovers and stretched tires away from being hellaflush since my Works or my SSRs from the RX7 are the right offset... but being sortaflush on the Rotas is fine with me for the time being.

First major update... The LSD is IN!  It took almost 5 hours and 2 "easy-outs" working on the lift by my self. I had planned on putting the Hotchkis suspension back on too tonight but I'm worn out from this LSD project.  :2funny:
