TRANSMISSION/GEAR TROUBLE!! HELP PLS!!!!!!!

I HAVE A 2008 IMPREZA 2.5 AND.. it seems like the synchronizer might be going, shifting it into 4th.... and its also starting to act up going into 5th... it only happens when you get the rpms over  3000 usually, and when you slide it into 4th it feels like something is in the way, still spinning, and it makes a bad noise!!! it feels like something is off just a bit...  it will still go into 4th just fine, after the grinding... it feels like it catches something before it  gets into gear...   it really pisses me off  .... im not to good with the tranny so i would love some help...

When did the grinding start?

Ever change the trans fluid?

I would get with Fred, Get some Extra S Subaru synthetic tranny fluid...

Then when you drain the fluid from the transmission , If you find a piece of metal that comes out .. you KNOW somethings broken..

How many miles on the girl?

the Extra S will really help with the shifting if it's the oil that has broken down...

bring it in for warranty repair, with 29k it is well before the 6yr/60000 mile powertrain warranty.

do not change the fluid yourself. I would call your selling dealers and see when you can bring it in for diagnosis and see if they can schedule time with a tech to go for a quick ride so everyone will be on the same page with what you are describing.

And if they dick you around, hang tough.
NYS has a lemon law that states if you bring a vehicle in under warranty (4) consecutive times for the same issue without it being resolved, they have to buy it back. Hoping it doesnt go that far though!
