Should i become a Nasioc Vendor?
« on: August 11, 2010, 09:27:51 AM »
I have been thinking about becoming a nasioc vendor for my subwoofer enclosures.  Last fall i had Zeke create me a webstore in preperation to this, Well although i have not sold a damn thing on my webstore i have been doing more business through word of mouth on nasioc for people i have created enclosures for.  But that is still not gettign the word out and i have also received a few infractions for "vending" if i post "jsenclosures.com", although i can post a million pictures of my work I personally just can't tell anyone to pm me for details or go to my webstore or anything like that without an infraction.

Nasioc memberships are expensive, see the price i was quoted below:
Now for new vendors such as yourself, we have a special trial rate of $200 for three months.  The other options are $100 for one month, $525 for six months, or $990 for a full year.  If you sign up for six months or a year, you can pay monthly through PayPal subscriptions if you'd like.

Now here is the deal, i am really excited about this new 08+ wrx hatch and Sti enclosure i have made i want to get these things out the door as i know there is a lot of people looking for an enclosure just like this one.  Audio integration sells their custom fit enclosure that mounts to the ldrivers side of the trunk for 370- + shipping and in my opinion it looks like shit and sticks out like a sore thumb.  I plan on selling mine for $395 (UNYSOC discount $340-) shipped and that would include a elemental designs 10" thin woofer that has received tons and tons of great reviews.

What do you guys with 08+ hatches think?  Do you think i'll be able to sell them left and right at this price and it'll be worth the 200- for 3 month nasico vendor trail or what?  Do you think that price is fair, too low, too high?

Your input is appreciated

geeeeez those are some high costs just to promote a product yourself on a freaking forum  :-o

how about instead, everyone from here goes over there and talks about it for you?  Would that get too suspicious?  :-D
(i know, wouldn't be exactly the same, not being in the vendor for sale sections and all)

they should give like a $50 1 month trial, then go on to the regular pricing if you decide it works for you

i would do a 3 month trial. you have a great product that no one else is offering, Get yourself a internet Hype team and put your name all over that place. That way people should be able to still find your post after the 3 months are over, and you should be able to sell a ton of them.

Actually everyone besides myself can post anything regarding my website and my enclosure sales.  I just can't do it or it's "vending"

Yeah, that's what I did in that one thread...

Don't they have local vendor rates where you can post in the local forum (Tri-State or NESIC) as a vendor.  Not sure if that is still around and it might not provide enough exposure.

BTW whould someone mind posting this link on nasico for me?  They took down the really nice thread the guy made for me b/c i posted "jsenclosures" even tho he linked it multiple times in his post.  That post got that item hit on 137 times yeserday alone.

Just say something like:

"I just found this enclosure for a spare tire well on the internet, it looks great"

I think it's a tough decision. It is expensive but it's also the easiest way to get exposure to a shit load of Suby owners. My answer to your question depends on who else on Nasioc is vending and sells product similar to yours.

The only products that are similar to mine and vend on nasioc are audio integrations.  They are only similar in the fact that they are custom fit.  They do not mount in any of the same locations.  That being said, they are also almost double the price of mine

Nobody sells:
-An 08+ impreza, wrx and sti 5 door enclosure for the spare tire well
-A dual 10" custom fit enclosure for 02-07 sedans
-A custom fit enclosure that will accomadate a square kicker subwoofer for 02-07 sedans

I'm posting something up. are you not offering the older wagon in-floor enclosures anymore? I didn't see them on the site  :?

i say take the time to finish updating the site, check your stats and see how your traffic is from me just posting this

then if you get a decent jump in traffic and any sales just from that, I say give the trial vendorship a go

I'm not sure it would be worth it for you to be a Nasioc vendor. $1000/year means you need to sell quite a bit of product. Being a "one man shop" like you are would make it tough.

By the way, I bumped Daryl's thread for you...
