i've got the incredible and i love it.  So far no problems other than battery life but that is essentially a problem in any smartphone without an extended battery.  I'd rather keep my case than get a bigger battery tho.

I have an Incredible too, I suppose I should take a pic of that.

Anyhow, look into the Seidio 1750mAh extended battery that will fit your stock back plate. Or, grab the 2150mAh HTC version that's slightly bigger on VZW's website. ORRRRRRRR get the 3500mAh Seidio extended monstrosity, which is HUGE.

Easy way to conserve battery life is to underclock your cpu when not needed. You really don't need to be blasting 1Ghz all day long. I have it drop to 500Mhz or so when the screen is off, battery life has been quite swell.

This is what I do on my Droid 1. Run it at 125 when the screen is off and 600 for most functions. If I need to surf the internet and/or watch flash animations/videos I crank it up to 800. I've had it at 1.25 but the heat was unbearable. I get ~40 hours on a single charge with heavy usage.
Eric

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.

Yes, me and Ed will speak when I get my replacement about rooting and making my EVO not die in 4-5 hours like it does now. HTC=Fail is all things mobile.

Love mine im on my second droid, Had original droid 1 for my work phone, now have Droid INcredible (rooted) for my personal phone.  Wife is rocking droid 2 and loving it.  Droids are freaking awesome ota software upgrades flash support, hd video, and third party apps plus removable memory.  As for the people who are still desiring an Apple Iphone on Verizon I dont know why the droids are much better.  I am not just saying it because I work for Verizon but there is nothing that the Iphone can do that droid doesnt.

Wow, 125, that's pretty low. Some D1s will not operate correctly when dropped that low (<250). You got yourself quite a gem over there Eric ;)

My question: don't they automatically underclock themselves when not in use? I have system info which gives % of what CPU power is used when, and *lowest speed* has a high percentage of the time.

Its only 125 when the screen is off - as soon as the screen comes on it goes back to 500. I get some lag in receiving emails with touchdown occasionally but I don't get upset about that.

Nope

Then why is my phone at 245mhz 59.94% of the time, 998.4mhz 30.96% of the time, with tenths to 1% of the time for the speeds in between according to Android System Info?
