 I'll keep this short, and as non-preachy as possible.  I just found out that a school mate and old friend of mine from 6th-12th grade was killed last night, in a car accident on Alternate Route 7.  It's very likely that he was driving aggressively and above the speed limit.  I haven't spoke with him in years, but at one point he was very much a friend of mine, and I fondly recall listening to Korn wayyy too loud, and cruising w/ him.

 Let's keep it safe out there, and as annoying and testing driving in traffic can be, keep your cool, as it could be you or someone else that doesn't make it home.  No need for "I'm sorry" or "My condolences".  Instead, just drive with your brain and not your fucking Ego, and I'll do the same.  RIP, Jim.

Think I just heard about this. Was it the 5 car. And yeah,i see so much bad driving and for what, save yourself 5 minutes. People need to think about their lives and others that are on the road.

 Yes, it was the 5 car.  This even makes me mad at me, because sometimes I'm guilty of driving like an asshole too.  Nothing is worth you dying or killing someone else , just to get ahead in traffic.  Absurd, the things we do to feel in control.

  I think we all drive like asses from time to time, but I do try to control myself when there are other cars around.
  I see people all the time almost hitting people just to get a car or two ahead....and half the time it's just to sit in line for a toll booth and end up behind me again for lack of an ez-pass.......totally pointless risks

I was wondering why the road was closed when I was trying to get to Colonie from Troy last night.  Once I heard there was an accident I had a feeling it had to do with racing, wreckless driving, etc. Condolences to all those involved.

On a site note, I am kind of suprised there is no median between the 2 lanes.  Isn't it 65 there?

it is 65 through there.  I have always wondered why they haven't put a barrier in between the two lanes.  According to the information I have gathered, he hit the median going 90+ mph and with the swale that the median has spun his camero into a barrelroll which lead to him hitting oncoming traffic upside down!  All I can really say, is to just be careful with aggressive driving....

he was trying to pass a suburban at those speeds when his rear bumper hit the front bumper of the suburban causing both to loose control and flip.

They should have separate roadways for asshats to roll their cars into each other on. Oh, you say they do? They're called closed road courses? Absolutely no reason for things like this to happen, and I feel sorry for everyone else put into harm's way that night.
