looks like it's coming along nicely!
one general question though, why would they locate the air intake directly behind the radiator where the fans will be blowing hot air at it?  Any way to make a heat shield between the two  and run some ducting up to feed colder air in?

Wow, that's hard to believe.  I see it though in that list.  If you crashed that car and got hurt badly, and the Insurance company inspected the car only to find that it had the airbags intentionally disabled, I wonder what would happen ?  Not implying, just surprised at that link you posted.  Either way, rock out, it's getting there.

Is it any different than not wearing your seatbelt (for insurance purposes of course) ? Also, many cars allow you to disable passenger airbags. They are a nice safety feature but not required. Sorry, I just need fucking Big Brother out of my life for a minute or two.

Actually, for the driver too you're allowed to disable your airbag. If you are under a certain weight/height I believe the airbag can actually cause you more damage than the accident. So you're legally allowed to undo the airbag for safety reasons. Therefore I believe thats why its not needed under NYS inspection

1/7/11
finally brought my canon back over to the shop tonight.  Well didn't do much today, just removed the a/c pump and replaced the belt with the shorter one.  It all went very easy.  Also put on a shorty injen intake i picked up. Intake should be good for now, i will be going turbo or supercharger in the near future so it's going to change either way.  Got some parts coming in next week.  My T1R rear anti-bumpsteer kit will be here monday and i'll put the front and rear anti-bumpsteer kits on early next week.  I ended up getting an exedium front bumpsteer kit seeing how it is just a spacer and spent 60 bucks for it new, could justify the T1R for the extra 40 bucks.  Also got the a/c delete button, top of the steering wheel trim(because the tabs are broke on mine), a blank button for the cluster (right side) and the gromet for the a/c delete in the firewall from the CR.  Next up on my to-do list is to order the mugen rool hoop trim piece and start fabricating my custom welded in cage.
Here are some pics

LSX swaaaap!! lol. also i think it'd be pretty sweet to mod the bumper and leave the fenders off and make a different fender to cover up the frame support and leave the front wheels open with some hot rod head lights, kinda like a prowler only not as gay... or pricey

ya know, if your into that kinda thing lol

seriously though looks great, def comin along nicely

Not going to lie, hot rod/prowler idea sounds like a really cool idea.  I bet Chip Foose could do it in a day.

The idea of a prowler makes me want to puke...

So anyways i went over to the dark side this week and joined shift 518.  I knew there was some honda guys over there and just my luck i was able to pick up a rear bumper and front fenders from a guy going widebody.  I will get them next week.  Also picking up a single sided exhaust in poughkippsie on Sunday on my way back from the subaru 48 hours drive.  Anyways, there are quite a few s2k's over on shift so that's a great thing.  Those guys (from what i can tell)  all have boosted theirs.

Next week the anti-bumpsteer kits go on and so does the exhaust, rear bumper and front fenders!

Sold a hood yesterday.  Picked up the extra hood for 90 bucks and sold it for 250- so that was a good snag on my part.  Picking up a rear bumper and carbon fiber exhaust plug/trim today for a good price.  So i'll run over tot he shop and get that on the car and then hopefully this weekend (wheater permitting) i'll be heading down to poughkippsie to pick up a single sided exhaust (dual exhaust on a 4cyl is form over function, and this car will be function over form).

EDIT:  Rear bumper didn't work out, it didn't come with the exhaust plug which was pictures and had broken clips and i refuse to pay 150- for a rear bumper with broken clips that needs to be sanded before paint (b/c it's silver) when i can get a brand new one from the dealer for 230-.  So i'll be ordering one from the dealer.  Still trying to get that exhaust and oem fenders this weekend though

Well, i haven't been doing much with the car the last week or two. Had a 4 day, 2000mi subaru road rally last week and a 4 day snowmobiling trip (leaving today) in tugg hill.

i'm hoping to pick up a single apexi exhaust this weekend from a guy i met a while back as well as oem front fenders from another local guy. I just ordered 22' of 1/0 gauge wire for my battery relocation. I'll be using a Odyssey PC680 in the trunk and tilting the fusebox sidesways in prep for the synapse turbo kit that is in my future. Should have the battery relocation project done next week as well as the front anti-bumpsteer kit installed.

I got the rear anti-bumpsteer kit last week but the uniballs on the ends were shot on one of the toe rods. I called up T1R racing and priced up another set (150- ouch), did end up getting a little back from the guy i bought them from and i got them cheap so it's still a good deal. I will be ordering those probably this week so i can put the rear kit on as well.

Not much else is new, been selling some unneeded parts on ebay and here and will be starting the cage sometime in Feb after i get the mugen roll hoop trim piece here. I think i've made up my mind on a set of Sparco R505 seats unless a good deal comes along as well. probably going with takata for harnesses.

Schroth.  USA DOT approved.

There goes your Function > Form statement...  j/k.   Uniform paint is always a plus.  Things are coming along nicely.

I just placed my order for the Mugen roll hoop cover from King Motorsports. Should be in this week and then i'll hit up Albany steel and get some DOM tubing to start the fabrication on the roll cage. The rear is going to look just like the mugen and that's why I ordered the cover. It's a little pricey but it will make everything look very clean. Also Got in my 0/1 gauge wire from Knukoncepts today! I will be using that wire to relocate the battery into the trunk. I will be using a Odyssey PC680 or batcap 800 battery. I've had good luck with the batcap batteries in the past but think i might go with the odyssey this time around as i've heard good things from other members. Not much else is new and no new pictures but i should have some pics sometime next week. Still looking into seats for now, trying to sell my stockers at the moment.

I would just buy the mugen cage but there are two problems.  1.)  it's 1500- without shipping and a 2-3 month wait from Japan.  I can make one that is stronger and much better for the price of steel (The trim piece alone was 400- but the sale of the oem steering wheel and airbag took care fo that) 2.)  It's a bolt on and i want it welded in.

It'll look like this (for the rear portion anyways):

So I order my mugen roll hoop trim piece Saturday. I called king a week ago and they told me they had 1 in stock and if they sold it it would be roughly a 3 month wait to get another. Well, good news. I got the last one. Tracking puts it here Wednesday! Roll cage starts this weekend!!!
