New Guy From Troy - Likes Old School Roo's
« on: September 26, 2004, 12:08:12 AM »
An friend of mine has a friend who's into the newer Subaru's (couldn't tell you the model for the life of me...), and I saw the UNYSOC.ORG sticker on the side. Almost missed it with all the other stickers he had on it  :) .

Anyhow, I usually haunt the USMB forums, but I figured I'd pop my head in here and see who all else is local... then noticed that mostly everybody here is into the newer WRX's, STI's, and what not. I'm not, for the most part... more interested in the "old school" wagons and hatchbacks from the 80's. I'd love to own a Brat, too  8) . The closest I'd get to the newer models is slapping one of the EJ22 engines into my EA82 body (we've got an adapter available! Woot!)... then heading out to offroad a bit.

Anyway, anybody else on here lean the same way?

Ya know... now that you mention it, that does look awful familiar. Does Siobhan's birthday dinner at the Take (Ta Ke? Ta-ke? Still not sure) sound familiar?

I'm taking a drive down to CT sometime this week (depending on when the owner's available) to take a look at an '89 GL-10 Touring wagon. If the rust isn't too bad, I'll probably be picking it up... gotta replace that rusted out Loyale. Gotta admit, though, I'm a tad bit envious of how fast that Subie of yours took off that night    :D .

 One wheel drive...

Don't knock the Justy, though... from what I've heard, that little Justy can surprise you. I've heard of a stock Justy placing well at a rally.    Apparently, it makes a nice place to start off from, if you want a FrankenSubie.

Problem is, they look small enough to get swallowed by Troy's "finally-plowed-three-days-after-the-snowstorm" roads in the winter       :) .  That, and I wouldn't be able to carry much in it. Might look kinda funny with a lift, too. *sigh*

Justy are great a couple of friends and rolled one.  The funny thing is that the three of us put it back on its wheel without breaking a window (couple dents and dings ) WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
