Karting Videos
« on: December 25, 2010, 09:51:45 AM »
First, Merry Christmas!
Here are some footage of the karting place down in Florida, I'll get some of the one in Jersey City when I get back to NY late January =)
They are gas operated motors, top speed 50 mph...now they have advanced 9hp karts that are even faster! I need to shave .5 second to qualify for those =(

My friend tried to pass me...then I messed up so he did.

Then he crashed when I tried to pass him...of course I DID NOT cause that lol.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqI7kbYN7k0

Then we all FAILED, got beaten by a very fast 14 year-old girl! I need to loose some weight lol.

Holy shit you really got pinned under that barrier when you crashed. I raced some in Montreal in a few months back. We were all 6 foot or taller so they had to put us in the faster cars.

A few years ago I raced at F1 Boston those are seriously fast. Our fastest car was 47mph on a 1007 foot course. They also have endurance races that combine both courses and the remove the governors from the cars, then they will hit close to 60.

^ I had a blast at F1, I only got up to 43mph I think.  Awesome time, and the turbocharged 250cc Shifter Kart on display was bad-ass....   The owner (ex-race car driver) showed up in his Porsche GT2, and parked on the sidewalk...

yeah, you mentioned that, didn't you?  :-D  Okay, I can't read....I was thinking you meant it was mounted somewhere other than the helmet, I was just curious about the mounting options.  Would love to see it from a low angle, like up by the front tire somewhere

I don't think they would let me mount it on the kart but I'll ask. Last time I look there weren't any good spot to mount the go-pro. Today I'm racing again so I'll check =)

yeah, wasn't sure if it would be possible, or if it would be too much risk to the camera at that point (think the crash in the wall video)....but it would make for a cool vid

Oh I think it should be ok the go-pro has a very safe and strong protected case...well until it breaks lol you never know. I mounted it near my tires when I went rallycross lol got dirt and rocks flying at it and it came out perfectly fine =) keep crossing my fingers...

Last night's footage-->This time the go-pro is on my helmet so you'll see how slow I am, IN HD!
If we go to the one in Jersey City, we can switch from helmet to helmet to see everyone's progress.

Oh yeah another crash lol my neck still hurts from the one from last week :crazy2:

Ouch.  I crashed once at F1 and it felt like a for real car accident.  I was sore for a week at least.

Thanks Daryl =)

Yeah it happened twice in two weeks, this time I stepped on the break and my rear came loose and went straight into the guy. Mostly the accidents came from those obnoxious drivers that don't want to let someone else pass them, evidently from my crash video. Hopefully, there aren't a lot of people this week since the holidays is over.

I got pushed into the wall, and while trying to work my way out, somebody hit me from behind at what I can only assume was full speed...yay neck pain.
