02 WRX WAGON JFIGG296*2G800001 - 837226
03 WRX SEDAN  JFIGD296*3G500001 - 513811

This is not a recall  just a fix for a concern from owners. This is a one time free fix to any car in that vin range. And was first started in 2005 so most of the cars have been already fixed, but i do know there are a few new owners of these vehicles on the site and i want to make sure you know that we can fix this at no charge to you.

I do believe that everyone should learn how their car handles without ABS in the snow/rain, but you need to find a very safe place (say an empty stretch of route 9 or) to figure it out. It's obviously much easier/safer to learn how to threshold brake in the snow cause the speeds are so much lower. In the summer on summer tires the only place to learn is an AutoX or other event.

Oh, so bedding in brake pads on 787 is a bad time to learn threshold breaking?

Autocross or 'snow practice' is also good for dates.  For all the leghumpers out there.

I do not advice practicing that at the autox, my brother did that and it was one scary scene.

Where do you propose to practice then?

I would still say AutoX is the safest place you can try out no ABS stops.

Agreed, but those are inherently higher risk than a properly run autoX

It may be higher risk for your car but safer for people/autocross workers.

I guess, I wasn't thinking just lock them up like a moron and slide into a worker, but I guess that could happen.

However, properly instructed workers at any well run AutoX should be plenty far away that this is not an issue. You should have enough room that a car can't slide into you.

I agree. In almost every autocross I've been in, in Miami, there are always a few of those drivers or maybe it's because it's in Miami.
Plus, I don't want to mess around with the ABS-->still learning how to drive with it on lol.

I was an SSS in training with MoHud, those guys run pretty safe events around here.  Our courses tended to be much lower speed on broke-ass pavement, so they're as good place to learn as any.  But you never know, a noob corner worker could step out too late/early.

Subaru's ABS is bonkers sensitive, when you get good at getting really close to intervention without triggering it, It's much more effective.  ABS doesn't stop you faster, it stops you 'under control'.  I almost Slid into a wall of cones with the wagon at my first auto-x with it, 2 turns in.  Lesson Learned.
