to have the flat foot shifting and launch control......that Cobb says your AccessPort is able to do already?

edit: wait a sec.....is the blip for down shift, not rev for flat foot shifting?  I think I misunderstood something there  :uglystupid2:

edit edit: so how the hell does your car know the difference if you're about to up shift or downshift to make the behavior for flat foot shifting and auto blip any different?

autoblip rev matchs when you downshift.

If all your looking for is a simple flat-foot shift and launch control Cobb has that.

RaceRom has advanced launch control and flatfoot shift

and learning how to drive your car apparently ftl?  :crazy2:

I kid.....I mean, sure it's cool and has benefits, and I'd still like to hear a more complete explanation of how it works out of curiosity.....but at what point do you just go that one extra step and buy an automatic?  :buck2:

I do know how to drive btw. I ran a 12.7 w/ an ots stage 2 setup.  :uglystupid2: I now have a shopct built car and stage 4 clutch.  :smitten: I want autoblip for when im bombing through my back roads .and stage 4 clutch = no slip so when im breaking into a 25mph rated corner @ 70, and need to throw it into second, it would be nice to have autoblip. Thats all im sayin

Racerom has lots of advantages. Advanced timing tables and such. The launch control offers antilag (if wanted) it also has a traction aid that when you launch your car isn't going to spin and rape rev limiter, the flat foot shifting is more than a secondary rev limiter that isn't going to break your motor like cobbs and theres a few other perks as well. There are people ditching their AEMs and Utecs for race rom if that says anything.

I know, everyone who's pro race rom is fanatical about it like it comes with a free brainwashing kit  :-D
I'm not saying anything about whether it's worth it or not, I don't know....all I do know is that it gets old hearing how everything but this one magical application is going to blow up your car, despite the thousands of other cars running other applications out there

All I'm after is more info than "OMG it's so freakin awesome ftw lulz"    That doesn't really answer questions like: how does it know how much 'blip' to give it?

let's run with the "I need to downshift from 70 to take a sharp turn in a sharp turn" for my spirited drive on empty back roads *wink wink nudge nudge* scenario.....

Case A you manage to get the car down to 25 before letting out the clutch in second
Case B you only slow the car down to 40, but still shifted into second
Case C you brake down to 30 but went to third instead

With how quickly you can shift a gear and let off the clutch, how is it going to:
A) determine which gear you're planning to select and
B) figure out the right rpm range to blip to for that specific gear and the current speed and
B) get the revs there before you let out the clutch

Hater :2funny: I never claimed anything else was going to blow up your car. It just has much better timing tables and a few other features to help with tuning over open source. Hell, even stand alone guys are switching back because they love the drivability of the stock ECU. Now to answer your question, auto blip only works when you are in a bit higher rpms I don't know the exact, but over 3k. It won't work if you are lugging the car. It also doesn't do it under a certain mph (mine is set lower to better suit my aggressive driving style) I believe mine is at 40kmh. That helps with daily driving so it doesn't lunge while slowing down for a stop sign or red light. The blip is based on RPMs the higher in the RPMS you are is going to determine how aggressive the blip will be. EX 5k will give it much more throttle and 3k. I hope this answers your question a little better..

just the most recent one  :2funny: :-P

What can I say?  I like details to back up all the bragging, and it would take at least some idea of how something works to make to sell off a $600 piece of equipment just because someone said 'this is better'

(and may have a teeeeny bit to do with debating about how much of a headache this hydra system is going to be down the road  :-X)

RaceRom is a lot more than just autoblip, launch control, flat footshifting.

It has dual maps on the fly..
Dual:

Timing
Fueling
Injetor scaling (e85 lovin!)
Avcs
Boost control
Per gear boost control
Per gear rev limiter ( I use this for valet mode )

Full Speed Density

Launch control with fuel, timing control and traction aid
Flat foot shifting that engages the second you push the clutch in - this allows you to flat foot mid turn at what ever rpm your at ;)

Flat foot also has timing control and fuel control

So yes racerom will wow you.

It's not for everyone but as someone that ran a full standalone for two years, stock ecu is the way to go
