wategate/actuator
« on: October 11, 2004, 09:51:45 AM »
I just bought a ihi turbo off of a 89 subaru gl to use on a friends car... I'm not looking for all out boost right yet... Thinking between 5 and 7 psi.. not much... but enough.... But one problem... i've found with some testing that the wastegate actuator opens at 10 psi.... Is there a way i can modify it for less boost *sounds a little weird i know*, or does anyone have an actuator that opens this low that i could buy cheap for this project?

Either that or would it just be better to get a blow-off valve? If i go that route should i be worried at all about overspinning the turbo? (not sure... this would be my first turbo install, but won't be my last)

Any help or advice would be greatly apreciated,
~Aaron
