If you want to log again I'm in town tomorrow night.  I found the logs from last time, they don't really show much...especially since I was having a brain fart when selecting parameters.

So, has anyone actually determined whether or not the rear sensor in the EJ255/7 engines actually plays a larger role than in the EJ205/7 engines?  If it doesn't, then it would be safe to disable the codes rather than wasting money on an "emissions only" sensor.

I haven't determined it anymore than my initial suggestion / statement.   Though, I do stand by that statement.   I have not once seen an instance where this code has popped up on an ej20 powered WRX.  The fact that the name of the CEL has "fuel trim" and "too lean" in it, suggests that it will make changes to and affect fueling.

Edit:  There ya go.

Don't hold me to this, this statement is for curiosity sake, not diagnosis....but I looked up the code in the service manual, confusing shit I'm not going to portend to understand, but I got the impression that it only checks for lean conditions and throws the codes if it finds them....nothing indicating that it makes any changes to the mix to correct it

Any half-way decent functioning ECU should at least slightly increase fuel delivery when it throws a CEL noting that you're running too lean.  Call me a crazy idealist.

I agree that it's dumb if it doesn't adjust based on that....just saying I don't see anything saying that it does *shrugs*

no, i've got a cobb catted DP. and replacing the 02 sensor worked. ive put 1000 miles at least on it without the code coming back. im also getting like 4mpg better. i used to be able to only get maybe 275 on a tank. on the last 2 tanks ive done 320 and i was at 280 with a 1/4 tank left today.

Damn.  I've only gotten 320 or better when it's be 90% highway.  Think I may need to log and see what is going on because I don't think it is entirely my right foots fault haha.

Glad you figured it out though.
