93 Wagon. Slowwww Build.
« on: April 02, 2011, 12:56:04 AM »
Basicly reposting my intro, but here i can update pics more :)

My ultimate goal with this car is a reliable DD, but can still have fun when wanted :P Eventually want to do a full sti swap down the road, but i think im going to tackle turboing a 2.2l this summer.

Plans/wish

Engine
Wreaked STi, 04+
FMIC

Transmission
Same as above
6mt,

Interior
STi swap

Exterior (includes wheels/tires)
03 Wrx rims (have)
225/40/16
rs front conversion
obs top wing
respray, Blue ridge pearl

Suspension/Brakes

Coilovers
4/2 pots
Rear sway, upgraded sways,

Some of you might remember me from Dom Tune BBQ at Byrons place. I showed up with Andy and my friend Chris who had a 06 2.5i. About 2 years ago i bought a 1993 Subaru Impreza L, with over 200K and worn Cvd's, for 400 dollars, it was the best thing ever! Pic when i was lookin at it:

Car sat awhile, Till i started to dislike driving my beast of a truck. It was great for winter, has a plow to make some extra money, but really isn't good for cruising.

So work began, changed the CVD's cleaned the car all up. Exhaust started to sound a bit bad, needed a few things like gaskets and such, but the muffler was just shot. I tried to use one out of a newer outback, but it was just too big. Cut what i needed and the tip, and just straight piped it. And its not that loud. I need to weld supports, and need to bend the pipe so it fits better,.

After that, my hood's clear coat was a bit peeling...

Decided to paint it flat black,

More pics.

More random Pics. haha.

Motor's out, sent a clutch for a FWD not an AWD. She's down for a week :(

Painted my bumper, mounted my hellas.

Went from:

To:

Poor hella's.. I fixed my bumper already, bent most of the metal back, got headlights and a radiator, just gotta get a hood and bumper beam :)

What did you use to fix the rust on your car?
2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5rs wagon

1995 Subaru Brighton Rs (sold)
2002 Hyundai Accent (sold)
1999 Chevy Cavalier (sold to my brother)
1998 Subaru Legacy wagon (traded to Blackparis)
1997 Subaru Legacy (Parted out and crushed)
1999 Honda Civic (Wrecked)
Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.

Thanks guys, The rust we cut out and made some metal pieces for it, pop rivited it in and bondo for now. i, getting one of those cheap 100 dollar habor fright welders, Ive read a bunch of reviews and they say its perfectly fine for small stuff, so it'll do good for bodywork once i get ambition to paint my car

your second pic is incomplete  :buck2:

not a huge fan of the look of that exhaust on that car....but I think sound is more important.  how often do you really have to look at the back of your car vs. how often you have to listen to it?
