I want an FP Green
Eric

Quote me now while I'm feeling good about it.  I've decided a WRX will be the vehicle that replaces the Jeep.  I can't see paying Evo prices or justifying purchasing a halfassed/beat to death example for the same asinine amount of money.  For an affordable, point to point, all-weather capable performance car, a wagon fits the bill.  A swapped wagon, even better.

3.2 qts of Synchromesh with .5 quarts of Lucas Oil Stabilizer.  As long as you still have synchros you won't grind anymore.

I'd try some NEO 75w90NS (a little on the expensive site), or some Royal Purple Synchromax. Precision Tuning, which Josh and Tim can vouch for, use the Royal Purple in all their cars, and installs. I use it in mine, and it works very good.

thanks for the tip.  I did a little searching around on nabisco, and a few people were saying just to stick with the OEM recommended tranny fluid... and to be gentle when shifting.  I'm still gentle but get occasional grinding.  :(

Keep searching, there are a lot of threads that say Synchromesh is Ambrosia for our trannys too.

thanks for the roll eyes.

That was deffinitely needed for the thread to function properly.

I was telling her that just because one thread says stick to stock doesn't mean that there aren't others that say differently.

Are you the goddamn tranny expert?  No. Neither am I.  Neither are most of the people who post on NASIOC.  SO I was letting her know to keep reading, see ALL SIDES and angles and make her own Decision.

these are the type of non constructive coments that lead to pissing matches havent you learned that from the turbo kit install page, where you offered no advice just fanned the fire.

as far as tranny/gear noise and grinding, i have not had any of those problems with my car.  its a daily driven WRX (yes that means winter as well) with about 55kmi.  im not even sure if the fluid has ever been changed.

I ground 4th on my way home tonite.  I guess I shifted too fast for it. :(  You'd think 3 to 4 is a str8 shot, dont have to worry about grinding but OHH NO.

I just got my fluid changed too but I went with the oem stuff.  guess I'll be changing it AGAIN.  I HATE GRINDING

sorry to cause such a ruckus in here heheheh :?

Royal purple is great stuff and does a good job smoothing some things out, but I wouldn't necessarily say that it reduces grinding by any significant amount...I think it makes it easier to hit each gate properly and not miss shift and ham-fist it.  Grinding is mostly a result of being a crappy driver or a busted synchro.

I'll concede that *USUALLY* when I grind it's because I'm shiftering fast, essentially slamming gears.

BUT.  on the same token it will also happen when I'm motoring along normally and I also get that dreaded "first gear grind."  now I know that to avoid 1st gear grind you should clutch in for a moment and then put the car into gear.  but grinding when you're at a fugging stand still should not happen.

I just have to be more careful.  sometimes I'm not as careful when I shift.. and boy do I pay for it :(

Oh yeah bugeyes, just wondering what stage are you at now?  get that boost prob fixed?
