Wait, wtf?! Is that your AFR and other readings on your stock head unit?

yes, i am 32 years old and have grown out of having gauges lol running a netbook that has been modified to shut down and start up with the car. using the video input from the stock unit for display and music can be played from my ipod or phone at the same time.

It's relatively easy, I have one too :) mp3car forums have a ton of useful information and I could help you out picking parts. I just rebuilt mine a few months ago (not from a netbook, just using a mini-itx board)
