bad news......

trans shifts wonderful....gears are great. The center diff in the trans i was sold....maybe not as good. Or i wasnt given the matching rear diff. Car made it about 160miles before a bad clunk all the sudden started, Any time i take a sharp corner i get a bad clunk which all most feels like its in the rear but from what i'm reading if its only when corning then its the center diff.

i may be wrong, but isn't that also a sign of the mounts/bushings for the rear diff?  did you replace all that stuff when you did the swap? or re-use them all?

re-used, upon second inspection with a prybar() there seems to be some movement with the rear diff mount. more then i would like so i am going to replace that first.

On a serious note. I would recommend getting the WHOLE subframe and Diff lockdown KIT. comes with  poly inserts to limit the amount the bushings can move.. Will give your car a MUCH more positive Feel in corners and reduce clunking when shifting.

Just wanted to update this.

Found the problem, damn rear passenger cv shaft broke inside the boot. It was popping in and out inside the boot. Swap it out and now its good to go.

So after buying and installing the following

GT Spec rear diff mount $180
Group-N trans mount $80
Torque Solutions pitch stop $80
Kartboy race outrigger bushings $40
Spare Center Diff
Spare Rear Diff

it ended up being a damn CV shaft which i already had so cost $0. Guess you live and learn.

Haha, of course!

If nothing else, you have peace of mind knowing that all the other parts you swapped out are good and should hold up for a while...
