OK. It wasn't a jab at you. If whoever is providing a warranty on your turbo says to use nothing but 10W-30 Dino oil year-round, great, you go ahead and do it. All I'm saying is, you're not driving a 20 year old Turbo-Diesel truck, rather, a modern tuned performance turbocharged car that should really be using high quality synthetic oil.
And to add to what Dan said: Peter gave me a hand with my injectors as well. They're kind of a pain, but not too bad.
Yeah, I know it wasn't directed at me. IT's stabdard fare for a forum.
Oil and OCI is a most controversial issue. The info I was given was from Bryan Nickell of BNR Supercars over the phone as he was packaging my 18g for shipping. It arrived today!!! The oil issue continues to be a troll-fest at the legacygt.com where at thread about bolt-on turbo upgrades has heated up, pun intended. Frankly, I fall on the side of having an appropriate viscosity and keeping it clean with more frequent OCI. I had a turbo Regal (T-type) for over 20 years and lots of types of oil went thru that with no turbo trouble...other GM issues...not gonna bore ya!
Thanks for the offers and advice so far. I do a little mechanical work, but I don't have the tools, time, skillz for this job. Freddy has been in contact and is willing to take it on. I need to get high flow oil line, pump and injectors yet....Mike
