2001 Subaru Forester
« on: December 02, 2016, 05:09:01 PM »
I have a 2001 Forester that is located in Troy. It was dropped off at a mechanic there after the timing belt expired (highway speed). The mechanic does not have time to fix it so my choice is to find a member to help me do the repairs or sell it as a parts car.

The bad: I live in Colorado.

The good: It is a southwest car that has been in Albany through one salt season. My daughter moved there 1 year ago and was planning to take it to Chicago before this happened (2 weeks ago). She flew to Chicago so the car is waiting to be loved again. It has 99K original miles. Its in really good condition. No rust, very well cared for, silver, everything works. Drives excellent (until the incident).

My preference: Get it fixed so I can bring back to Colorado.
Second choice: Sell as is.

I have an exceptional mechanic in New Mexico (just across the border) who has a set of refurbished heads that I can send to NY if someone would like to tackle the job.

My number is (505) 634-6416

I need to make a decision pretty fast so give me a call.

Thanks, Tom
