Front differential

Will a 2002 legacy front diff interchange with a 2003 outback. 5mt 2.5 both

I'm hoping Fred chimes in, but I would tentatively say yes. They should be the same beast.

Depends on the final drive of the transmissions. I believe both are open front diffs. So teeth count might be off from different final drives.
